Two Public Library Systems
and
Minnesota's Library Support Organization for Southwestern MN

Pioneerland Library System

The Pioneerland Library System is a consolidated regional public library system with 32 member libraries located in nine counties in west central Minnesota: Big Stone, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, McLeod, Meeker, Renville, Swift, and Yellow Medicine

Plum Creek Library System

The Plum Creek Library System is a federated regional public library system in which each library is funded locally, has its own library board, selects its own materials and retains local control. The 26-member public libraries of our system share resources, programs, personnel and technical innovations.

Prairielands Library Exchange

Prairielands Library Exchange is a multi-type library support organization working to meet the professional needs of librarians in southwestern Minnesota. The seven multi-county, multi-type library systems function as an intermediary between all types of libraries, ensuring that resources are shared and cooperation occurs among library types, including academic libraries, public libraries, school libraries, and special libraries in Minnesota. Through library cooperation and resource sharing, Minnesotans receive the best library services possible, in the most efficient manner. Each multi-county, multi-type system is as unique as the libraries they serve.
